Our Services
New Patient Examination
Initially one of our treatment co-ordinators will have a discussion with you about your concerns, treatment wishes and previous medical and dental history. After this one of our dentists will then provide you with a comprehensive examination of your teeth, gums, soft tissues, chewing function and any existing fillings and crowns you may have. The dentist will also carry out an oral cancer check, a smile check, check your jaw joints and take any intra-oral photographs or necessary x-rays (all required photos or intra-oral x-rays are digital and there is no extra fee).
If you have any concerns they will address these, or discuss any cosmetic treatments you may desire, including implants, whitening and tooth straightening. If more complex treatment is required such as multiple implants or a smile makeover, then often we will book a further appointment which may be done via a video-link for a full case assessment to diagnose and discuss all the treatment options available to gain your desired outcome.
Following your examination, the dentist will produce a written report, treatment plan and estimate and will be happy to discuss any details with you. We will then book any further appointments needed and look forward to seeing you again. After any appropriate treatment has been completed we will recommend an appropriate time for you to attend for a recall appointment to maintain your newly improved healthy mouth. We usually allow around 45-60 minutes for a new patient examination. We believe in having a thorough approach to your dental care, and think that the examination and diagnosis stage is vital for delivering you a properly devised treatment plan.
